So I am going back as close to Vision as one possibly can, and I know that is DP. If you ever wind up using the plug, I'd advise putting it after a compressor plug to emphasize the bass's attack, because I suspect it's wiping out a little of the transients, but the Sonic Maximizer does an excellent job of bringing out the bass sound and giving the track an overall compression that brings out what you're looking for, body-wise.Ĭould you help out a non plugin savvy brother? What is AT3? When you say Renn Bass you mean Renn Bass Rider or.? I had heard good things about Scarbee Pre Bass so I snagged it last year but haven't been ready to program. I could never get the plug to work on any other track (it always sounds like it's "too much", as if I'd bumped up the bass and treble all the way on a stereo), but it really worked out well on the bass track. Out of desperation, I wound up using a plug I hadn't even considered: my BBE Sound D82 Sonic Maximizer from the Sonic Sweet collection. I liked the sound a bit, but I still wasn't hearing the bass properly. I haven't used Bass Rider (sounds like it will be similar to a compressor plug), but Renaissance Bass is actually a combo "renaissance compression" plug and a harmonics plug similar to MaxxBass - it either adds to or creates harmonics to get the bass part of the sound to stand out more. To get back the bass, I tried a few compressor plugs, which tended to make the bass louder, but not bass-ier. However, for a couple of existing tracks, I'd already ran Pre-Bass through Ampeg-SVX, which gave me a warm amp sound, but somehow knocked out the actual bass part.

The DI sound there is actually very full and bass-y and I might just end up going back to that. I currently do all my bass tracks with Scarbee Pre-Bass in Kontakt. and I need it to sit in the image better. This particular track the bass is jumping up and down like a yo yo level wise. I really need the bottom end to sit better in the mix, as this older Yamaha bass had this massive maple neck and all the energy was transferred to the string (where tracks with the thinner P-Bass neck acts as a dampening device in lower frequencies as in a vintage '57 P-Bass with that long thin neck.) Naturally on the P-Bass tracks we had the VC-1 as a DI, so. How would you guys/gals compare the two Waves plugins JJP bass and Renaissance Bass Rider? I have been hearing others are doing this with the old SC-2 hardware (UK builds) or newer TFPro units on their final mixes. Or I can go out and back in again and use the Joe Meek VC-1 brick. Unfortunately the player has Psoriatic arthritis and the P-Bass player moved North to Humbolt. But I am waiting for the 9 version to run on my own thumb drive. So I snagged Rennaisance bass & vocal rider last month and Aural Exciter w/ L2. My problem is old bass tracks blown in via lightpipe from ADAT. So to use this quality reverb you need stereo in or S-1 (or if stereo already you can use Trim to narrow the image in the mix for bass, or snare). Armageddon have you checked out Breeze 1.1 from 2cAudio? PCM 70 quality tail but it is only stereo in and out.
